Activities at Group Accommodation Nieuwkarspel

Hiking

Nieuwkarspel is a good starting point for several dike hikes, you can make them as long as you wish. There are also some signposted walks. Walking is always a delight in de Schoorl Dunes.

Cycling

Ever so nice: cycling through the North Holland landscape. Bring your own bike or rent: http://www.deswaan.nl/fietsverhuur-noord-holland-langedijk .

Canoeing

Canoeing is fun to do here. We rent four 1-person canoes for € 10 per day-part per canoe. For more and other canoes: canoe rental at 2km distance: http://www.bootensloepverhuurwaarland.nl. A detour around Waarland takes some 3 hours. Note the wind direction!

Football

There are two mini-goals on the site. Bring your own ball.

Fishing

Wonderfully quiet on the canalside. Buy your license at the Bruna shop in Noord-Scharwoude.

Build a raft!

Nieuwkarspel has material to build some rafts. Price per raft € 30. The rafts are sailed in the adjacent water storage. After construction you can continue to use the raft during your stay (always take it back to the housed). 

Trampoline

There is a large trampoline, all for your group. The use is at your own risk. It is advisable not to allow more than 2 children at the same time and to supervise them properly.

Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton

We have a volleyball/tennis/badminton-net for you to use where on the premises and when you want to.

Ping pong

A ping pong table is present. You had best bring your own bats and balls. Or buy them in a local store.

Take a swim!

The small lake right next to Nieuwkarspel is suitable for a swim. Getting in and out is a bit muddy, so swimming shoes (or a self-built raft) are a advisable.

Furthermore, you can swim in the lake at Dirkshorn and in the recreational area Geestmerambacht. And in the Northsea of course. For more information see beach.

And of course, the open-air swimming pools are open in the summertime: Warmenhuizen (3 km), Dirkshorn (2 km) and Waarland (2 km) are the closest.

In Noord-Scharwoude is the indoor public pool Duikerdel, with family swimming on Sundays. www.duikerdel.nl
In Alkmaar there is a bigger indoor pool: Hoornse Vaart.

Sports day

All these possibilities can be elements in your sports day right at Nieuwkarspel.

Detour with a typical barge

The barge will pick you up at Nieuwkarspel and you will be guided around by skipper Kees Meester. Duration: Just over 2 hours. Can be arranged on the spot in good weather.

Different possibilities for workshops

In co-operation with relevant artisans such as portrait painting, ceramics, make-up, massage, color match, felting, mosaic, cooking, wine tasting, making tapas, making snacks.

Beaches

Behind the dunes is of course the North Sea with its fine beaches and the seaside resorts Callantsoog, Bergen aan Zee, Egmond aan Zee. Petten, Camperduin and St. Maartenszee, Schoorl aan Zee, Hargen. Hiking, fresh air, day at the beach, swimming, surf surfing, kite surfing. By car probably, but on the bike is also very nice, to Schoorl aan Zee, for example, where no car can access.
